First Halloween

Hey baby we had a lot of fun on your first Halloween trick or treat night! It's not common in Brazil to see kids walking around the houses asking for candies but you wanted to do it anyway because that's what kids do in your country. So you invited some friends and I made you a big witch hat and we went out to try to get something. It was cool. You guys got treats in the first house!! Then you had a door slammed on your faces! :) You know... they don't understand... Then more candies and a nice party afterwards prepared by our neighbor.
It was a great night!

Look what I found!!

We've been having a lot of fun these days with this video I found which I had totally forgotten about. You were three years old and Leo was one. My princess you are!! Listen to the song carefully. Instead of saying "estatua" you say "etapa" and then you correct Leo who is saying "papa". It's so cute. I can't get enough of it.

So grown up!!

This is just to register how beautiful and grown you have become baby. You are my precious little girl and I love you so much!

I also want to leave two more pictures here, one from your greatgrandmother, who won't be with us for so long so it's good to have her around for now. She is so fun and full of energy and we love her.


The other one is with Sophie, this crazy girl who works with your mom. She is also a lot of fun and we laugh a lot with her. We love her too.

Zumba!

Hey we found a new rhythm now! It's called Zumba and we love it. I've been exercising at home lately with this video I downloaded from the Internet and you wanted to take some classes too. You look so cute doing it on your own. It's like a grown up girl!

Your first and only tatoo

We went to Guaruja last weekend. It was a lot of fun, sunny days, nice beach, fried shrimp, ice cream just the way you like. You love going to the beach, jumping the waves and grabbing shells with grandma.
You had your first henna tatoo but I told you it would be your first and last one since I don't really like tatoos and you totally agreed with me. :) Let's see what happens when you grow up! I'll be watching you! :)

Vacation!

We are on vacation!
We've been having some fun these days.
We went to the theater to see a festival dedicated to the Japanese Immigration in Brazil. You used to love watching the 'taiko' presentations. So you were the photographer of the day and took all the pictures. You wanted to invite all your friends to watch it too so that they could learn something about Japanese culture. Even though people would bother you sometimes calling you 'japonesa', which you didn't like, you were proud of being a Japanese girl. :)


We went to Marilia where our family lives and you got to see all of your cousins and could stay over their houses for some days. You had been asking me that for a long time. You guys went to Garça for a picnic by the lake.
We watched two movies at the theater 'Kung Fu Panda' and Wall-E' and saw a nice play called 'O Papagaio Real'.
Back to Jau we went to say goodbye to your friend Luciana. She moved to Ribeirao Preto and we were both sad because her mom used to be mom's friend as well.
Today we went to the park to fly Leo's kite. It was very windy and we were all happy seeing it up there in the air.

All about Marie

Yesterday something very interesting happened. We were leaving the grocery store and this boy told us there was a kitty under our car. We looked for it and found nothing. Then he said we should look inside the engine otherwise the cat would end up dying there. I tried to get it open and couldn't (women...) so this man came to help me and we looked inside and I saw no different moviment there. Then Leo said 'oh I see "uma coisinha peluda"! and there she was, sleeping in peace.
You grabbed it from the man's hands and said we had to bring her home. I guess she chose us so I had to agree with you. Now we have a cat and a dog in the house. I don't particularly like cats but who am I to choose something? Kids rule!!! :)

Then you prepared a box for her using a milk cardboard, a blanket, dog's food :) and a toy. She appears to have enjoyed it. You named it Marie.

Festa Junina - Porto Alvorada - 2008

Last Friday you had another Festa Junina at Porto Alvorada, your school. You dressed like a cowgirl and danced with your classmates (I couldn't film very well because you were hidding behind your friends but you surely looked very cute.
Here are some of your friends: Ana Camila, Talia, Maria Alice and Lara.

For me you were the most beautiful girl there but people might say I'm just a proud mom. :)

Festa Junina - 2008

Today we went to a Festa Junina at Kartódromo, in Jaú. There was a big bonfire and delicious corn on the cob.


Grandpa was here and we stopped by the park on our way back and you guys had a lot of fun at the skate rink.
You said that it was the best day ever!

Undokai in Marília

Last weekend we went to Marilia (grandma's house) and you had fun at Undokai, a japanese celebration, with races for all ages. Japanese immigration is completing 100 years and you are very interested in knowing about your greatgrandparents lives when they first arrived to Brazil.
Your cousins were there and you won a "gold medal" for throwing rice bags into the basket. But the cutest thing was the running race. Wanna see it?

Sunday at Hopi Hari

Last Sunday we went to Hopi Hari, a theme park located near Campinas. We went with mom's cousin Silvinha and her kids Thiago and Bianca, grandma and her sister Misako.
It was our first visit to the park and even though it rained all day long we had a lot of fun.
The ride you liked the most was "Rio Bravo", which means "Wild River". We managed not to get wet!

Here we are... 7 years old!!!

Primary school!!! You are enjoying it a lot! You get to stay with older kids now, in another area of the school. Since you became this beautiful young lady, there is this kid who is already chasing you at school, calling you "linda" all the time and I'm going there to kick his ass!!!! :) Good for me that you are still not interested in them.
You are still fighting big deal with you brother and you guys are driving me nuts!! For that reason you hate the boys and I hope that continues for the next 10 years, at least!! :) I wish, right?
Oh there is something I want to register here so that you know: you never let me drink any alcooholic beverage and I tell you that I won't as long as you never do it when you grow older and you say you won't anyway. I will bring that on when time comes. Don't forget!!!

Your greatgrandma is now 88 years old and I will post a picture of her here so that you can remember her when she is taken to heaven. She is a very cute and funny lady.
This year you added another friend to your group: Luciana. She is the daughter of Andrea and they are very nice people. So now you are four friends.
Ah this week you did something very cute - your teacher gave you a cool assignment - drop some grains of bean on a humid peace of cotton and write a journal about its evolution through the days. On the first night, I heard this classical music playing in the kitchen (where we had the stereo) and went there to check. You had placed the cup on it so that the beans could go to sleep in peace. :) it was very cute. You even asked me for a blanked so that they wouldn't feel cold. That's my girl!!!
You are a very bright kid who is always interested in knowing how things work, asking about all sort of things, loves Math and Portuguese, thinks really quickly. Ok it's not only because you are my daughter!!! You really are all that!!! :)
But you are also very shy. Competition? no way!!! you just can't do it. You feel stomackake and get stuck. I guess it's just the way you are. The second picture was taken at Porto Alvorada, where you were participating in Porto Esporte.

At 6 years old

That year was very special. It was the year you would have your first graduation. Mommy was very proud of you! Your teacher was called Lyra (you just asked me to write that :)










Also you had your first piano audition at the local theater, in Jaú. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano but since I couldn't I was proud of having a daughter playing it. Your best friends Maria Alice and Lara were there and you looked gorgeous on that blue dress.










Your dad came to visit you from Colombia and brought Juan Guillermo and his daughters Maria Camila and Ana Sofía. You went to Rio de Janeiro with them and just loved it.












Your uncle Kim came back from Japan with his family and you got to know your cousins Igor and Letícia.
Oh you asked me not to forget to mention that we went to Colombia in December to see your dad and his family. You and your brother stayed with him for almost a month while I went to Portugal for 10 days. You loved staying at your greatgrandma's house, in Timbio, because you went for long walks at the mountains.

At 5 years old

We did a lot of things when you were 5.
You started the year changing schools again. This time you went to Colégio Porto Alvorada, a school we used to love. For me it was the best one. You got to meet your other best friend, Lara Patrícia. The three of you were inseparable.
That year, in July, we took our first real vacation, you, Leo and me. We went to São Paulo and stayed at Marco's apartment (my ex-boss). I took you to Xuxa's park, to Ibirapuera park and to Zoo Safari. We had a great time there!
In August, we went to Serra Negra with grandma (where we visited the Robot's city, which you loved) and in October to Guarujá with her too.
And that is not it. In December we went to Guaruja again, this time only the three of us and stayed there for 10 days, Christmas and New Year!! As you can see, we traveled a lot!!
